How Your Website Design Can Make or Break Your Startup

    web-design

Let’s get some things straight at the very beginning – if you do not exist on the Internet, you do not exist at all. Starting a business may have its hardships, but it can all be in vain if you do not dominate the online realm. Consider your website to be a digital hub where people can get a chance to audio-visually experience what your company has to offer. Without it, your efforts to expose yourself to the public eye will undoubtedly cost more money and time. Yes, it may be a bit abstract to some people to rely on something that is, in fact, intangible, but a website really can either make or break your startup, so you might as well design it right.

    The logo

Nowadays, everything is about the visuals. The visual content you deliver to current and potential clients is a far more potent tool for communicating that just using texts. That is why the logo itself is like your emblem, your coat of arms, an image which defines your activities. Having a polished, professional logo which is linked to your home page is of the essence. Hi-res image of your brand should also be on any other platform you use, and by clicking it, it will always direct people to your website.

    Navigation

Our attention spans are much shorter than before, mainly because we are exposed to all manner of information that we massively and blatantly disregard if doesn’t wow us. However, not only you’re your content have to be unique, simplicity has become a paramount trait for any website. So, when you design the navigation option, make sure that it is intuitive. Whenever a page has confusing layouts, people will quit it in an instant without trying to figure things out. Also, primary information should always be placed on the top of the navigation bar or landing page, while those less crucial should be placed at the bottom or footer.

    Do not clutter things

This is another thing that simplicity regulates. If you put too much content for people to see or read, it will overload them. Too many options will never coincide with a sound digital marketing strategy. Cut down the number of graphics, photographs, animated gifs, and anything else that makes the website look cluttered. According to Mind Arc, a digital agency from Sydney, visitors judge things with just one look, so consider limiting the links and options while putting an emphasis only on important things. If you find it hard to differentiate what material is relevant and what isn’t, feel free to seek advice from the experts in the field.

    Use of fonts and color

Fonts too, play a crucial role in the overall website image, so make sure yours is easy to read, size 11pt minimum, and universal (please stay away from Comic Sans!). Color should purposely be used in a strategic manner, because a tasteful combination of such visual stimuli can define the appeal of your company. Neutral colors, for instance, will help you project an elegant, modern appearance, while strong, vibrant colors can rarely make you look serious in the world of business. Also, check what colors patterns suit your taste and make sure that they are consistent with your marketing materials. Remember, they can either be complementary, analogous, triadic, monochromatic, or you can even try to combine your own patterns which you find pleasing to the eye.

    Invest in good photography

People, especially the youth can detect a generic photo in no time. If you want to make an impression, it would be smart to invest in quality photography to back up your texts and other content. Show your visitors that you care about how things look and that you are capable of drawing attention with a certain gravitas. Visual communication is always more potent than verbal, especially in the Internet world. Consider this to be a postulate.

Everything discussed so far is related only to the aesthetics of the website. Once you make things look nice, professional, and appealing, then the SEO process can start and you will have to find ways to boost your traffic as best as you can. It isn’t an easy job, but goldmines are to be found on the Web, you just have to make sure that the products/services you sell are worthy of a wider audience.

Flappy Bird developer is back with new frustrating game ‘Swing Copters’

    swingcopter

Dong Nguyen, the developer of addictive Flappy Bird game today launched his new game ‘Swing Copters’ for iOS and Android. Is it addictive? Absolutely, we’ve tried it already.

In this very exciting game rather than navigating a bird sideways, you are tasked with guiding a cute little helicopter’s upward flight while avoiding pairs of hammers that swing from each gate. Just same as the Flappy Bird, you will get a point for each gate that you pass.

The little copter flies from left-right automatically, and you have to control its direction with a tap. That is lots of tapping to get up the series of gates and hammers. Once the copter gets moving in a particular direction, it becomes harder to regain control of its flight path.

The iOS and Android smartphone game is available for free, with an optional $0.99 in-app purchase if you want to remove advertising. Dong has written on Twitter that it will soon be available in more countries.

The Vietnamese developer pulled Flappy Bird after its popularity became too much to handle. He claims he had problems sleeping, as he was worried that so many people are spending their time on this.

  • E3 2014: Ubisoft Announces Far Cry 4, The Division and Rainbow Six Siege

E3 2014: Ubisoft Announces Far Cry 4, The Division and Rainbow Six Siege

    ubisofte32014

Apart from announcing Assassin’s Creed Unity at E3 2014, Ubisoft announced these three big games.

    Far Cry 4

Ubisoft kicked off this year’s E3 2014 with one of the most highly anticipated games on the company Far Cry 4, the follow-up to the critically-acclaimed shooter Far Cry 3. The next entry in the Far Cry franchise will leave humid jungles and scalding hot beaches behind in favor of the snow-covered mountains or Kyrat, a fictional region of the Himalayas.

This trailer also offers a first look at Far Cry 4‘s protagonist, Ajay Ghale, who travels to Kyrat in order to fulfil his mother’s dying wish and finds himself embroiled in the region’s civil war. Ajay’s passport and accent reveal him as being American and he can be seen briefly on Pagan’s camera screen. He and Min also seem to have some kind of personal connection, if Min’s statement that he recognizes Ajay’s eyes is anything to go by.

This is a cross-gen game though and because it’s being released on PS3 and Xbox 360, it’s unlikely to test the hardware of the PS4 and Xbox One. Available November 18 2014 on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.

    Tom Clancy’s The Division

The Division is a new take on the military shooter franchise, combining an open-world New York with tactical combat and deep RPG mechanics. Powered by the new Snowdrop Engine, The Division can be played solo but is largely being promoted as a cooperative game, with players invited to team up as different members of the Strategic Homeland Division and take New York back piece by piece.

The demonstration started out with an atmospheric CG trailer, which used a time-lapse recording to show the Big Apple’s slow decay into chaos. A gruff voice narrates in the background, before a hero emerges in the streets. The trailer culminates in a standoff steeped in the remains of a city neighborhood, before a rather villainous group wearing gas masks enters the fray. The Division is expected to release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2015 or 2016.

    Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege

The last few years have not been kind to fans of the Rainbow Six series, despite the many years the franchise spent at the top of the heap of modern military shooters. Ubisoft sent the message that they had big plans for a new title when they unveiled target gameplay footage of Rainbow Six: Patriots – a game that was later suspended when the direction of the game ran into issues. But at E3 2014, the developers at Ubisoft Montreal showed a brand new direction for the series, Rainbow Six Siege.

In an era of fast-paced, twitch-based shooters, the slower-paced Rainbow Six franchise has been sorely missed. The fidelity and textures weren’t jaw-dropping by any means, but the gameplay loop that fans have been clamouring for seemed to be in full effect. Who knows – perhaps the visuals will be taken up a notch before its commercial release.

  • E3 2014: EA announced FIFA 15 with Emotional Intelligence

E3 2014: EA announced FIFA 15 with Emotional Intelligence

    fifa-15-ea

As expected EA Sports introduce the world to the latest addition to the FIFA series during their conference at E3 2014, and the company delivered with a trailer reminiscent of their “Beautiful Game” speech from 2006. Combining live-action video and later transitioning into some gorgeous next-generation visuals, the FIFA 15 trailer is sure to excite fans of the series. It shines light on the fresh visual cues which should light up the atmosphere when the game comes out this September.

Emotional intelligence is the headline feature, with EA promising that all 22 players will keep track of referee decisions, bad tackles, and missed goal opportunities. The graphics have also been whizzed up a bit, and now the pitch can be all scuffed up when players run over it.

The game level of detail, with ever more detailed player faces, character models and kits. Now the kits move realistically and change with environment, getting dirtier and caked with mud and grass as the match unfolds.

Tweaked commentary will highlight the fans’ reactions to the changes in the games, with location specific chants and behavior. The bench will react to what’s occurring on the pitch and 10-man goal celebrations will pull you into the action.

Controlling the ball just like the world’s best players, this year’s FIFA chaps have improved balance, closer touches in possession and feature greater responsiveness. So close touch situations feel more dynamic and realistic.

Your AI teammates and opponents now recognize what’s happening in the match and will adjust their tactics just like real players. “Park the Bus”, “In The Mixer”, and “Time Wasting” are some of the Team Tactics you’ll come up against in FIFA 15.

The main version of FIFA 15 is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC, although EA adds that a separate version will also be coming to Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, 3DS, and Vita. EA adds that not all features will make it across to the last-gen versions.

  • E3 2014: Ubisoft announced Assassin’s Creed Unity

    E3 2014: Ubisoft announced Assassin’s Creed Unity

    assassins-creed-unity

Ubisoft waltzed into Microsoft’s E3 press conference to debut the first gameplay from next gen-exclusive action adventure title Assassin’s Creed: Unity.Confirming the previously rumored four player co-op multiplayer, the gameplay showed off some classic Assassin’s Creed gameplay and truly impressive next gen visuals. Unity’s multiplayer will allow players to create Brotherhoods with three of their friends to undertake assassinations. But that’s not all for Ubisoft. It returned to the stage during Ubisoft’s conference and gave fans even more to look forward to.

They not only released yet another gorgeous cinematic trailer, but the company also confirmed the release date for the title. It will be able for PC, PS4, and Xbox One starting October 28, 2014.

The cinematic trailer may not reveal any addition gameplay footage, but it does do a pretty great job of setting the scene and highlighting what seems to be the most exciting new feature of this game – four player co-op. A group of four assassins find themselves in the middle of the French Revolution circa 1789, where they team up to take down their targets.

A second slice of gameplay was shown off during Ubisoft’s conference, taking a slower pace and showing off the game’s immense level of detail. A CG trailer for the game also debuted during yesterday’s E3 festivities.

A pre-order page for the hotly-anticipated title has gone live right now confirming a Season Pass alongside a Collector’s Edition featuring a big statue of our hero, Arno Dorian.

  • E3 2014: What To Expect From gaming’s biggest expo

E3 2014: What To Expect From gaming’s biggest expo

    E3_Banner

Do you hear that noise? That buzzing in the air, like a swarm of hype-drunk wasps, ready to tear limb from limb? That’s the sound of E3. The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is usually where you find the biggest news, the biggest surprises and the highest quantity of previews all year. We’ll be covering all the biggest gaming news from the expo here at E3 2014 on GizMantra.

The video game industry is about to descend on Los Angeles for its biggest gaming news week of the year. Starting this Monday that is June 9 2014, get ready for exciting game announcements, trailers, nightmarish photos of crowded show booths, all the way through to the weekend.

E3 2013, last year was the most competitive and downright crazy shows we witnessed altogether in the recent history of gaming. The Microsoft Xbox One went head-to-head with the Sony PlayStation 4 and began the next generation of console gaming.

Get ready for a new journey with Far Cry 4. The game is due out this year and not much is revealed yet, so its is expected to have the feature for Ubisoft this year at E3.

    Far-Cry-4-Ad-01-620x311

Assassin’s Creed Unity will also be a big attraction, and as they state it as “the biggest Assassin’s Creed game yet because it’s the first game built with next-gen hardware in mind.” Lets hope for the best.

Recently delayed to 2015, Ubisoft will also reveal out details of The Division, which made a big impression with the E3 crowd last year.

Battlefield Hardline has an official teaser trailer out already, the new Battlefield 5, scheduled October 21 later this year expecting no more delays, of course.

    Hardline-580-90

Mass Effect 4 has also been heavily teased by BioWare for a while now. The Sims 4, which is coming out soon, is most definitely on the roster as well. We’ll also definitely see Batman: Arkham Knight on the floor too, even though its joined the list of delayed games. The unveiling of Mortal Kombat X should be pretty exciting.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be a centerpiece of the press conference, with some exclusive map DLC or some such announced for Xbox platforms.

With Nintendo reporting a major loss its last fiscal year, and the 3DS and Wii U not meeting its sales expectations, E3 could bring some big unveilings to shake things up.

CES 2014: PrioVR brings accurate, full-body motion control to games without a camera

PrioVR, the gaming suit that failed to achieve its funding goal on Kickstarter,  made an appearance at CES 2014 in Las Vegas.2414044-priovr

It’s a suit designed around the Oculus Rift that adds another layer of VR immersion. It uses wireless technology on the 2.4GHz band to transmit your movement, and while you can use it with any controller, the rep in the following video used Wii Remote Controllers to show how a person can interact with the in-game environment.

Instead of using a camera to track your position and movement, PrioVR relies on a series of inertial sensors worn on the head, torso, arms and — optionally — legs. PrioVR comes in three flavors: an upper body version that will cost less than $300 at retail, a full body version and a “pro” version with additional sensors that should come in at less than $400, the company says.

Motion with the PrioVR, as seen onscreen inside the demo video game, looked disjointed and awkward somewhat, but the effect has been impressive still. While hands and arms may have shown at unnatural angles onscreen, the precision of aiming has been there. And because the program doesn’t require type of sight to find out your movements, PrioVR cant track motions like lying rolling and prone on your back to fire from the downed position. That type or sort of movement requires the entire body edition of the rig, normally, but could lend video games that support the include a greater feeling of immersion.

  • Most Anticipated Games of 2014 you can’t miss !

Most Anticipated Games of 2014 you can’t miss !

watch-dogs-20142013 is a pretty good year intended for games. Consoles from Sony and also Microsoft are released, PC video gaming is healthier than previously, and important publishers have got announced a number of interesting new game franchises to get rid of the creation. That explained, 2014 need to be a good one, with a lot to look forward to. It’s going to become year packed with big releases, if many of us don’t observe any important delays. Whilst it was certainly difficult to whittle the idea down, here’s our top most anticipated games of 2014.

    Tom Clancy’s The Division

    Release date: Q2 2014

The United States has suffered catastrophic collapse after the spread of an uncontrollable disease, leaving a group of government sleeper agents – codenamed “the Division” – to come in and save what remains. Their job: to save survivors and combat gangs and other rogue elements. It’s an intriguing premise with tremendously ambitious gameplay that seeks to combine role-playing and third-person tactical shooters with massive online multiplayer. If developer Ubisoft Massive can pull it off, it will add another big franchise to Ubisoft’s already impressive stable. Massive’s E3 demo was a thing of beauty.

    Watch Dogs

    Release Date: Spring 2014/Q2

Watch dogs is actually one of each of our almost all anticipated online games for many motives. It’s already been in radar pertaining to 18 months right now, from the time we saw in addition to seemed to be impressed by its E3 demonstration within 2012. It’s consequently at the top of our own checklist because it’s already been delayed. It had been to get this the queen’s treasure of own Next Gen lineup, but instead we need to wait around another some several weeks.

    Titanfall

    Release date: March 11,2014

Thought-provoking puzzles and deep character development are one thing, but for pure action there’s no game more anticipated than Titanfall. Coming from the individuals originally responsible for Call of Duty’s huge success, the first-person shooter will pit players on huge battlefields as both individual infantry and as pilots of gigantic and fearsome mechs robots. As an exclusive for the Xbox One, the game has the potential to tilt the next-generation console battle in Microsoft’s favour early – if it lives up to its hype, that is. (Developer: Respawn Entertainment). Can they turn the shooter genre on its ear once again? We’ll have to wait until early-2014 to find out.
