Smart watches are on a roll as Sony unveils SmartWatch 3, and HTC eyes for MWC

A phone earlier used to be for calling purpose only. Time has changed, and making calls is a secondary task to perform through the phones. In the same way, watch is not just a product to know time. The smartwatches have evolved today that can handle multiple jobs like a calculator, playing game like a smartphone, and many others.

These smart watches can deal with the mobile applications, and even some can play directly with the mobile platforms. In terms of connectivity as well, they are efficient enough through Bluetooth. Looking at such usability of the concept, the manufacturers are showing increasing interest towards it. Apparently, two big names in manufacturing arena are in buzz on this regard.

Sony makes the smart wearables, SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand Talk available

Japanese leading manufacturer Sony has made its latest SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand Talk available. Through the process, Sony enters into the smart wearable territory along other leading manufacturers.

SmartWatch 3 is a fantastic product specifically made for present Android Wear trends. Through the process it has managed to become the opening smartwatch of its range. The other name SmartBand is also a great stuff that can let users handle calls and voice control functionalities through their wearable devices.

Talking of the other specs, the device has native microphone, accelerometer, Gyro, GPS, etc.

HTC to enter into Smartwatch this MWC

Here we come up with another leading manufacturer HTC in smartphone arena that is very soon going to start its quest. Reportedly, HTC will be putting the wraps off for this range of product at Mobile World Congress this March. There will be another much buzzed product One M9 flagship unveiled during the occasion as well.

    Expected specs

The latest SmartWatch reportedly will be sporting fitness tracking application service. Anyway, nothing much could have been gathered regarding design or specs of the product. However, everyone knows that keeping rumor mills tight lipped is just impossible. Believing the sources, the latest HTC smartwatch will come with extensive connectivity options.

There are many parts unclear regarding the product as well. HTC is said to be stepping into the trend carefully looking at the competitors. There is no specification as well whether it will be applying same concept as a wearable platforms as of competitors or anything else. Still, maximum chances are there it to be a very good Android wearable.

Sony has also worked for native SmartWatch platform, but finally prefers to play with Android only. Hence, nothing surprising will be there if HTC repeats the same pattern. In fact, there is no alternative for it.

HTC Smartwatch to carry an excellent design

However, sources say HTC is planning to make the Smartwatch available with a great piece of design. There are many chances hold for it to be real as its M9 is reportedly going to carry a trendy design and manufacture would certainly love to blend the concept with its upcoming Smartwatch as well. We all know M8 from HTC was a great device in terms of its design and display, and HTC would never mind implementing the same concept here that can make it go for a dream start with smartwatch.

    Availability

There are no official details made available regarding the product’s availability or price tag. Now all eyes are certainly on March 1st that has been scheduled for HTC’s press meet for Mobile World Congress. We hope things will be clear on the day. Stay Tuned!

MWC 2014: HTC Unveils Desire 816 And 610, Power To Give Initiative

HTC announced their new “flagship mid-range” phone, the Desire 816. They also made a couple announcements reminiscent of the ones Nokia used to make that focus on other actions and initiatives that can be taken to improve the well-being of others. HTC also confirmed that it will launch the successor to the HTC One on 25 March.

    Desire 816

HTCDesire816While HTC Desire 816’s price and availability are still being kept as a secret, but the smartphone will have a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels resolution) display and be powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC processor with 1.5GB of RAM. With 8GB of internal storage with support for microSD cards up to 128GB, which may just be the highest expandable memory capacity handled by any smartphone. With the presence of a brand new HTC Sense 5.5 UI on top.

HTC Desire 816 will also have a 13-megapixel f2.2 rear and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The handset ditches the firm’s Ultrapixel camera technology, earlier in the HTC One series. The smartphone is having a 2600mAh battery, is just 7.99mm thick and weighs 165g. HTC Desire 816 will offer LTE and HSPA+ (up to 42Mbps) for connectivity options.

    Specifications for the Desire 816:
    • 1.6 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor
    • 5.5 inch 720p display

    • Bluetooth 4 with aptX and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi

    • 2600 mAh battery

nexusae0_HTCDesire610_thumbThe HTC Desire 610 is a smaller device, with a 4.7″ qHD screen. The Desire 610 has an 8MP camera and is powered by a Snapdragon 400 chipset. It has a fairly large battery too, 2,400mAh, which surprisingly is only a bit smaller than that of the phablet. Also having 1 GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. The handset is scheduled to hit Europe sometime in May.

These devices both show a lack of capacitive keys, suggesting on-screen buttons. They also come with BlinkFeed and dual-frontal speakers with BoomSound, so expect these to provide a One-like experience at a fraction of the cost once they’re available.

    Specifications for the Desire 816:
    • 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor
    • 4.7 inch qHD display
    • 1 GB RAM, 8GB storage, microSD expansion card support up to 64GB

    Power to Give

At MWC, HTC also announced its new Power To Give initiative, which will allow users to volunteer a bit of their smartphone’s computational power to good causes. When your device is charging, connected to WiFi, and your battery is over 90 percent, you can allow it to download small bits of data, process it, and upload it back to a server. Just like the Intel’s initiative. Your device will assist projects related to cancer, AIDs, and clean water research. The app will work with the HTC One series, Butterfly, and Butterfly s, along with select other devices such as the Galaxy S4, even though that phone can already use Samsung’s own Power Sleep app.

HTC Desire 200 entry-level Android smartphone

A new HTC Android smartphone, Desire 200 ,targeted at the budget segment, has made an online appearance in a video even before its launch.

The phone features a 3.5-inch LCD screen that has a resolution of 320×480 pixels. It’s powered by a 1GHz single-core processor and will have 512MB of RAM. • HTC One unveiled with Sense 5

2012 was a tough year for HTC and they need to do something dramatic in 2013 to compete for customers in the Android market.

With the HTC One we see innovations in hardware and software along with HTC finally releasing an Android device across multiple carriers in the US with the same name and hardware. Apple does this with the iPhone and Samsung has done it with the Galaxy S III and Note II.

HTC was able to actually release hardware with the same name and design on multiple carriers with the HTC 8X, but that is running a platform (Windows Phone 8) that has yet to gain any appreciable market share. I think having the HTC One, an Android smartphone, on multiple carriers with the same name and design will indeed help the HTC brand and that is something that must be done to succeed.

Gone by the wayside are those pure polycarbonate hulls — HTC’s Sense 5-laden Android Jelly Bean (4.1.2) handset comes crafted with an all-around premium look and feel, housing its 4.7-inch 1080p Super LCD 3 display (boasting 468 dpi and protected by Gorilla Glass 2) in a machined aluminum unibody. And, in a bid for the top spot on the mobile totem pole, the One also bears the distinction of being (one of) the first smartphones to feature Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon 600, clocked here at 1.7GHz and paired with 2GB RAM.

One of the coolest new functions, HTC Zoe camera utility. Zoe is named after the zoetrope, a device that appears to make still images move. The HTC Zoe utility lets you use the camera to create Zoes, 3-second videos that can then be easily "mashed" together with still images, videos, and theme music to create fun highlight films that you can then share with others.

HTC’s taking a risk with the One. Flip the handset around and you’ll find an unassuming rear shooter in the midst of that clean aluminum body. Or, as the company calls it, the UltraPixel camera. Tackling the "myth of the megapixel," HTC’s outfitted the One with a 4-megapixel BSI sensor and f/2.0 lens, such that each pixel is meant to gather 300 percent more light than the current crop of smartphone sensors. The camera unit also features optical image stabilization and HTC’s ImageChip 2 for HDR, 1080p and 60fps video. But that’s not the end of HTC’s imaging focus. It’s also introducing a new feature / service dubbed Zoe, which allows users to capture and share short videos, much like Vine, via
