  • Moto 360 : The new Smartwatch by Motorola

Moto 360 : The new Smartwatch by Motorola

    moto360

The new Moto 360 is what smart watches should be. It’s something beautiful, big & most importantly it matches the expectations of a wristwatch.
Moto 360 is come up with unique circular design . When you see it, you see something familiar with intriguing qualities, not some gadget that happens to fit on your wrist. The Moto 360 strikes a stunning pose on your wrist, particularly in its stainless steel (as opposed to black) garb. Fit and finish of the devices we saw was top notch. The chamfered edges of both the glass covering the screen and that metal housing lend it a luxurious look and feel, and the thick, split leather strap is premium, too.

The Moto 360 won’t go on sale until later this summer, and Motorola hasn’t announced a price. The unit I tried out at Google I/O was locked in retail mode, basically showing only sample cards but still interactive. I could swipe and tap on the notification cards, but they weren’t “real.”

    Moto-360

The circular notifications worked just like the ones on the near-identical LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live except there, you know, circles. Danger’s part of the game is when you’re fashion-forward.

And its fashion that makes the Moto 360 such a sensation. While the Android Wear smart watches from Samsung and LG are cute gadgets, Motorola’s smart watch is a piece of technology you covet. In that way it reminding me of what I felt when I first touched an iPad: It may do some useful things, but the feeling of desire went beyond having a convenience. What I wanted was a trophy.

Like LG and Samsung, Motorola had the 360 running a demo mode of Android Wear, so we couldn’t get a feel for how the watch actually will work. That said, Motorola’s on its way to proving that sometimes, it’s not hip to be a square !

  • Motorola Moto E: Riding the Moto Wave

Motorola Moto E: Riding the Moto Wave

Sales of Moto E skyrocketed within minutes it was introduced online. Build on the lines that are similar to Moto G and Moto X; this device has further complemented the stronghold of Motorola in the smartphone market. Motorola is trying whatever they can to becoming prominent in this industry and its recent devices are proof of their effort. Following are some of the best features of Moto E.

    Design

This device is well built and bears a striking resemblance to Moto G, which is a relatively expensive device. Moto E sports a perfect blend of quality materials and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 which protects its display from smudges and scratches. Like Moto X and Moto G, this device is splash proof.

Motorola has also provided various customization options in this latest offering including specialized rubber grip panels and replaceable back panels. This will help to add strength and color to the device.

    Hardware

Considering its price, Moto E houses a decent hardware. It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset on the dual cores which is complemented by 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB storage. There is a not so impressive 5 MP camera on the device; however a 1980 mAH battery provides some great results. Moto E sports a decent display measuring 4.3 inches and backed by a repsolution of 960 x 540 pixels which provides nice brightness and color reproduction.

Moto E is a dual SIM device and allows the user to create stable mobile hotspots.

    Software and UI

The device runs on the pure version of Android, i.e., version 4.4.2 KitKat. The device comes preloaded with some useful apps Like Moto Assist, Alert and Migrate which further enhance the utility of the device. Unlike other smartphone manufacturers, the company intends to deliver the updates as soon as Android releases an update.

The OS of the device is pretty smooth and you cannot ask for more from a budget smartphone.

Lastly this device leaves a little to complain about as it is well built, have great specs and features and comes bundled with some unique and stock Android experience that will leave it loyal fan base happy. It has got the best possible display in its price range. The viewing angles are great and the screen is quite responsive. There is no noise in the image results. However, absence of LED flash is amongst a major drawback of the device.

  • Moto G : The Budget Smartphone review

Moto G : The Budget Smartphone review

Moto_GThe Motorola Moto G is an important phone, for Motorola at least. It’s the first new Motorola phone to be released in the UK in ages, and the first we’ve seen since Google bought Motorola back in 2012. It’s also superb. Thanks to its 720p screen and solid Snapdragon 400 processor, it offers far better specs than any other big-name a phone selling for under £150. If you want a sub-£150 or $179 phone, get this one. It’s that simple.

    Design

The design on the Moto G doesn’t, by any means, follow the current smartphone trend of the straightest possible form and thinner-is-better chassis approach. Its thickest side is the curved back which is almost 1.2 cm thick, while the thinnest part is just over 6 mm.moto-g-1

Its kinship with the Moto X is quite evident: both have the same exchangeable back side made from a slightly rubberized polycarbonate, built with the headphone jack at the top side as well as a cut out for the camera, an LED flash and finally a Motorola logo. Just like the Moto X, there’s a whole rainbow of colors from which to choose.
The interface is largely vanilla, which is good, but there are a handful of Motorola flavoured additions. Motorola Migrate helps you bring all your content such as photos, videos and text message history – as long your old phone was Android. Motorola Assist helps to avoid disruptions when you’re in a meeting or asleep which we’ve found extremely handy.

    Display

The Motorola Moto G’s most impressive feature is its screen. This is the first time we’ve seen a 720p screen on a phone that costs less than £140. Moto_G_vs_Nexus_5_Custom
This gives the phone the sort of ultra-sharp text and images that we’ve only seen in much more expensive phones to date. 720p resolution stretched across a 4.5-inch display gives a pixel density rating of 329 pixels per inch (ppi). Higher-end Androids may offer 1080p screens these days, but that’s still higher than the ppi rating of the iPhone 5S (326ppi).

    Processor

The processor on the Moto G is a Snapdragon 400 with four cores, a clock speed of 1.2 GHz and 1 GB of RAM.

    Battery

Motorola touts ‘all day’ battery life for the Moto G and this is certainly the case in our testing. The Moto G will last a day and if you are a light user then you’ll probably even get a couple of days from the handset.

    Tech Specs and Price

The technical aspects that come with the Moto G aren’t in the class of superior smartphones, but sit somewhere in the middle ground. The quad-core processor with 1 GB of RAM and Android 4.3 operating system ensure that the system runs smoothly at all times. The 5 MP camera is in tune with the price class, while the battery for the device is actually quite good. Considering the price of 199 USD for the 16 GB version, the Moto G offers a great price-performance ratio.

The Motorola Moto G is one of the best phones of the year, and the first time we’ve seen a phone of this calibre launch at under £200 SIM-free. That it’s so much cheaper than £200 is a minor miracle. This phone deserves to sell by the bucketload.

Moto-X-ad-designGoogle with its Motorola–are releasing a brand new smartphone sometime in the near future. And beyond the revelation domestic models of the Moto X will be assembled entirely in the United States, Motorola is now claiming the consumer will have some type of say in the smartphone’s design. As reported by a new ad touts the Moto X as the first smartphone designed by you. As ad says

“The first smartphone that you can design yourself. Because today you should have the freedom to design the things in your life to be as unique as you are.”

Pushing the “made in the USA” theme, the newspaper ad evokes images of the July 4th holiday and summer. Citing the Moto X as “something new,” the ad seems to state you’ll have some opportunity to have input in the Moto X model you purchase. Granted, what the means precisely is still pretty unclear. But the possibilities are interesting, nonetheless.

A spokesman for Motorola said that by keeping its assembly work in the U.S. instead of Asia, it didn’t need to fly its engineers out to far flung locales to check on production.
